What customers have said about us

'I went from getting 23% for my first assignment to getting an average of 52% for the rest. My highest grade was 64%....'

Carol Shand (former university student on youth and community work course)

'…The support I got from you was better than I got from anywhere else. You gave me moral support and helped me to calm down when it came to my writing. You helped me to find my own way of leaning. I learnt so much because you broke it down into bite size pieces. I went from getting 23% for my first assignment to getting an average of 52% for the rest. My highest grade was 64% which I was really pleased about. You pushed me hard but in a good way.'

'You got me to have faith in my ability as a mom to help my son with his learning.'

Mrs Beasley (industrial receptionist and mother of 9 year old ‘dyslexic’ boy)

'…Thank you for all that you have done for me and my son. I know he has still got a way to go but he is so happy now to give his homework a go. You got me to have faith in my ability as a mom to help my son with his learning. We have had loads of fun over the past view months inventing new and exciting ways for him to learn all the things that he found hard to do in the past. I still don’t understand fully what dyslexia is but now realise that it’s not going to stand in his way if I don’t let it”.

'It’s great how I can still be dyslexic and use it to my advantage without panicking every time I have to write an essay.'

Rajesh P (First year university student)

'…When you first told me your views about dyslexia and how to get rid of it I didn’t believe what you were saying and thought it must be a con. I remember feeling quite upset that you didn’t see dyslexia the way I was. Thank God I gave what you said a try or I would still be in the mess that I was in before. It’s great how I can still be dyslexic and use it to my advantage without panicking every time I have to write an essay. I still don’t agree with everything you say but then I’ve never agreed with many people anyway.'

'Knowing that you [Antonio] are dyslexic and had the problems I have got makes me believe I will do ok if I keep on having trust in myself.'

Sheena Macintosh (35 year old mum or three)

'…I have learnt magic tricks, how to do up my tie, count backwards from 100 to 1, learnt the alphabet forwards and backwards, and can remember ten objects and all with out having to write a single thing on paper yet. I love the field work you got me to do as we walked around my neighbourhood looking for things to count and read. Knowing that you [Antonio] are dyslexic and had the problems I have got makes me believe I will do ok if I keep on having trust in myself.'

' ...I can't believe the progress I have made over such a short period of time.'

Paul Carter (23 year old shop fitter)

'When I first heard of your 10 week programme I thought there was no way I would achieve much in that amount of time. I struggled all of my life with basic maths and literacy and was unable to do simple sums like ten times ten or five add five, or even read the simplest of story books.

The most important thing that I learnt from the programme was that I wasn't broken and that I didn’t need to be mended in anyway. I learnt that I just natural express myself using ways other than words like most people do. This completely changed how I see myself. Before, I felt like a freak most of the time and hated being dyslexic. Now I can see that there is nothing wrong with me and that I just learn in different ways so it’s cool to be dyslexic after all. At bees I learnt that I am actually quite good at maths and at reading and writing. In the past I wouldn't even try to do sums or read much but now I am trying my best to become good at these things.'

'..a company who has given me back my thirst to learn and succeed in education. As I have said before there is no shame in asking for help. Please do not suffer in silence ask for help and then you like me will be able to reach your full potential.'

Anita Lewis (2nd year university student)

'Everyone needs a little help from time to time. There is no shame in asking for that little bit extra when it comes to education. With the help from Antonio (a tutor from beesthewrongwayround) I was able to reach this year’s goal, which was to pass my exam. By doing this extra study with Antonio I am able to move a step forward and reach my ultimate goal of getting a degree in education. I needed help so I approached beesthewrongwayround and got the help I needed. Which I believe to be the best move I ever made.

I have always struggled, even at school I was called slow or thick and not worth the trouble. In the end I gave up with my studies and also gave up asking for help. I wanted to learn but no one had the time or the funds to sit with me one to one and aid me through me day to day studies. Even though I had my educational difficulties I sat and struggled through my G.C.S.E’s. It wasn’t good results but I still passed with low marks. I believe I was trying to show people that I was worth the trouble.

In 2004 I decided to return to my studies because I wanted to make something of my life. I wanted to teach my children that no matter what your disabilities are, you can achieve anything you want to. Since I am a full time mum I needed a course which enabled me to get a degree, but at the same time still be a mum to my children. It was at this point I was able to enrolled with the Open University and start my degree in the February of 2004.

Again I struggled through my 1 st year, but still passed my course. When talking to my tutor at the end of that year she asked me if I wanted a dyslexia test so I could get funding for an extra tutor who specializes in learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Therefore earlier this year I was diagnosed with dyslexia which enabled me to get the extra help I needed. Finally I would no longer have to struggle.

It was at this point I was recommended to go to beesthewrongwayround, which I did. I was pleasantly surprised at what the company could offer me. This made me wish I had this support when I was at school. I saw beesthewrongwayround as a positive step forward in my education. After nearly 5 months of being with beesthewrongwayround and looking back on how much I have accomplished, I would recommend anyone who needs extra help or support with their education to go to beesthewrongwayround.

Beesthewrongwayround gave me all the help and support I needed. Not only did I get help educationally but emotionally too. When ever I had an assignment due or I did not get the mark I wanted, Antonio was there for me every step of the way. I was shocked because I thought the extra help I would receive would be just like school and to be quite honest I did not want to go through that again. I was so wrong; although I had to work hard Antonio made me feel at ease, which in turn gave me confidence I never know I had. I really believed that I was going to be talked to like I was thick; again I was surprised to find Antonio has similar school experiences to my own. I was shocked because I was treated as an equal student and I would like to thank him again for that.

Antonio showed me different ways to do assignment writing and how to improve on my literacy skills. We went right back to basic writing skills to enable me to understand sentence structures, the usage of comers and the importance of paragraphing correctly. Antonio taught me all what I was supposed to learn at school in the matter of a few lesson. Within no time at all my marks got better and better. If it was not for Antonio and all those at beesthewrongwayround, I would have never been able to present an assignment as I do now with such confidence. It is now I feel that my educational skills has grown and will continue to grow while I have beesthewrongwayround supports I feel I can achieve anything with the support they give me and the skills they have shown me.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Antonio and the team at beesthewrongwayround for all the support I am receiving throughout my degree. If this paper just helps one person in getting the help they need I would feel I have given something back to a company who has given me back my thirst to learn and succeed in education. As I have said before there is no shame in asking for help. Please do not suffer in silence ask for help and then you like me will be able to reach your full potential.'
